STORY

About

My Story:

I’m a Louisiana native now living and working in Austin, Texas, with my husband and our three daughters. I grew up with a deep respect for nature and a love of adventure, and I’ve always been an athlete at heart. In early adulthood, discovering yoga led me to India, where I spent a transformative summer solo backpacking from Bangalore to the Himalayas.

It may sound cliché, but that chapter of my life is where I truly found myself (hence the name FOUND). Along the way, I also discovered a rich world of textiles, embroidery, and traditional weaving. I was captivated. Over the next few years, I immersed myself in learning about global cultures, their traditions, and collecting their unique textiles.

Those experiences continue to shape my creative perspective today, alongside a deep respect for the people and traditions behind each piece.

My Work:

FOUND. began as a way to preserve what felt too beautiful and too meaningful to be lost.

I’ve always been drawn to global cultures and objects with history. I fell in love with textiles because they are each one of one and carry something unique: the hand of the maker, the passage of time, the quiet imprint of where they’ve been. They each tell their own story.

Most of the pieces I source were never intended to be “art” in the traditional sense, but they hold a depth and presence that transforms a space when they're showcased on the wall.

My Process:

I source antique and vintage pieces from around the world, drawn to their composition, color, and character. From there, I carefully mount each textile using conservation-minded techniques, mostly hand sewing, so it can be preserved and when possible, reversed. The finished piece is thoughtfully framed textile art, both structured and organic. Something collected, and refined.

I create two series of work each year, debuted in the Fall and Spring (during the Marburger Farm shows in Round Top, TX). I also take a limited number of commissions each year and enjoy collaborating with clients and designers for specific projects.

Scale, palette, composition and story are all thoughtfully considered, allowing each piece to feel intentional and deeply personal. FOUND. is, at its core, a study in material, memory, and place.
